Dear friend

Our new best internet friend, Justin, runs the product we use to send these newsletters. We deliberately decided against using any of the big newsletter providers as they feel too sales and marketing focused. Justin’s project is the opposite. He works full-time as a software engineer at another company, so his email product is a passion project he tends to in the wee hours. This gives the product character, but it also results in limitations and bugs.

Over the past weeks, our email thread with Justin has reached 28 replies, going back and forth with problems and fixes. The last problem that Justin fixed is the referral code. Now, if you invite your friends to our growing club, we’ll see that they are joining from your invitation, and you should also receive a sweet email when they join.

This week's bouquet of Copenhagen wildflowers

Dear friend

Søren is returning home from the black wooden family house in the Swedish countryside, and Kristoffer is still hiding below the blooming trees on the Dolomite Alps in South Tyrol. And while we don’t know where you have spent the Easter holiday, we can see that you have also been extremely offline. If you want the last squeeze of calmness before everything returns to the everyday pulse, our Easter Egg in Østre Anlæg remains undiscovered.

With care

Dear friend

We have hidden an Easter egg in Østre Anlæg. Follow the photos, and you might be the first to find it. Our brand new weather forecast promises 11° and occasional sun, so today is the perfect day for egg hunt. Otherwise, our growing club is planning for a calm week. So without further ado, happy Easter.

This week's bouquet of Copenhagen wildflowers

Dear friend,

Dark mode is back. At least the local weather forecast looks more familiar than last weeks’ eternal sunshine. We hope you didn’t pack down the Copenhagen Survival Outfit because the flowers are blooming and our club is growing.

With care,

Søren & Kristoffer

We <3 Wildflowers Club

Dear friend,

Our gifted designer, Mads, is back from an inspirational trip to New York. While he was gone, we prepared a hand embroidered wildflower t-shirt for him. We hope he’ll <3 it. Without his support in making our coming website look better, we'll never feel comfortable opening the project to the public.

While we work with Mads to get the look and feel of Wildflowers Club right, we’ve made it possible for you to invite your friends to the club.

The first 100 members have been invited by us personally. To break out of our own filter bubbles, we’d love for the next humans to be invited by you.

Special Edition: CPH:DOX

Dear friend,

Over the next ten days, thousands of film professionals flock to Copenhagen to participate in CPH:DOX. With courage, dedication, and artistic ambitions, CPH:DOX has expanded the notion of documentary cinema and claimed the spot as one of the world’s leading film festivals.

We recommend you to get lost in the program - it is a landscape of wildflowers with more than two hundred films. Because we feel privileged that the festival is taking place in our city, we asked our film friends to each contribute one recommendation. You’ll find them below in today’s Special Edition of Wildflowers Club.

A few of the recommendations have been translated from Danish to English by us, so we take full responsibility for any grammar or spelling mistakes.

This Week’s Bouquet of Copenhagen Wildflowers

Dear friend,

The first two bouquets of wildflowers were welcomed with open arms - and phenomenal open rates. More than 80% of you opened the newsletters, and, on average, you clicked on 3-4 links each. It is the honeymoon phase, and we love it.

Your encouraging messages motivate us to keep nurturing Wildflowers Club. Therefore, we have made it possible to access a basic version of today’s newsletter on the web. Feel free to forward this to your friends while we figure out when and how to open up the project to more people.

We also have a secret surprise for you. It arrives in your inbox Wednesday at 12:30 pm.

The Easy Second Edition

Dear friend,

Thank you for supporting our idea of creating a space where we can inspire each other with recommendations for things to do in our city. No algorithms, just a good old bunch of humans helping each other out.

This is the second edition. It is sent to 70 people (up from 48 last Monday) and has contributions from 20 different people. We feel we are one step closer to finding our shape. And an extra thank you to Ana for contributing today’s photo.

After the wildfire comes the superbloom

Dear friend,

We were nervous when we asked for your contributions yesterday. Because without recommendations, it would have been pretty embarrassing to send today’s newsletter.

Fortunately, we feel we are off to a strong start! Yesterday we were 30 contributors, today we are 48. Our guess is that we’ll need to reach 150-200 contributors for the project to find its shape. That will probably take three to four weeks, just in time for spring.

We’ll be inviting more people to join this week. If you know someone who belongs on the list of contributors, please let us know.

The First Edition

Dear friend,

Thank you for joining our club! We are curious, and slightly nervous, about how this is going to work.

Every week from now on, we’ll collect your recommendations for activities in Copenhagen and share them in a free newsletter – promoting local culture across generations, ideologies and personal feeds.

For now, we only ask you to do one thing: submit a recommendation for what to do in Copenhagen next week and we’ll include it in tomorrow’s newsletter, the very first edition of Wildflowers Club.
